Pond Fountain FAQs & Troubleshooting Guide | Why Isn’t My Fountain Working?
Find Solutions to No Water Flow, Pump Issues, Leaks & More—Expert Tips for DIY Fixes
Possible Causes:
Pump is clogged (leaves, debris blocking the impeller)
Water level is too low (below pump’s minimum operating line)
Tubing is bent or blocked (check for kinks or obstructions)
Solutions:
Turn off the power and remove the pump. Use a soft brush to clean the impeller and intake area.
Refill your pond so the water level is above the pump’s minimum waterline.
Straighten the tubing and flush it. Replace with a new hose if necessary.
Possible Causes:
Impeller is worn out (deformed from prolonged use)
Pump is unsecured (vibrating against the pond floor or nearby objects)
Air trapped in tubing (intake may be above water level)
Solutions:
Check if the pump base is stable. Add a non-slip pad to minimize friction.
Replace the worn impeller. (Use our “Pump Parts Compatibility Finder” to locate the right one.)
Adjust intake tubing to ensure it is fully submerged.
For Solar-Powered Fountains:
Make sure the solar panel is clean and angled toward direct sunlight
Test the battery; replace old or worn-out batteries (see “Solar System Troubleshooting Video” for guidance)
For Plug-In Fountains:
Ensure the plug is secure and check if a circuit breaker has tripped
Inspect the power cable for damage and test voltage with a multimeter
